I worked from home today as I was expecting a delivery. Argos have a sale on at the moment so I bought a few things for my room; a large mirror, a throw for my bed and some curtains. Unfortunately I made the rookie mistake of not measuring my windows first so I ended up with a tiny curtain pole and massive curtains. Interior design fail!
Working from home is a bit of a mixed bag. On the one hand I get to wake up a little later than usual and I can watch TV whilst I work. On the other hand though my laptop is incredibly slow and I usually don’t have any food in the house. I should get into the habit of doing a weekly shop but I tend to just hit Waitrose after work to pick up things for my dinner. My choice today was to scavange the cupboards of my warm kitchen and eat what I could find, or go out in the cold to Tescos…I chose the former! For breakfast I has Special K and Philly (won’t bore you with another photo of this, but for those just joining me, it’s Special K flakes dipped into Extra Light Philadelphia, my favourite comfort food). For lunch I had fish fingers and couscous. I cooked the couscous with chicken stock and a little butter so it had a great flavour.
For dinner we had a bit of a housemate reunion. Jess, who has just moved out, will be leaving London shortly to start her new job in Switzerland so we met up for dinner at Zizzis in Canary Wharf. This place serves your basic Italian food: pizza, pasta, salad, risotto. I got the Zucca e Pancetta, which is a butternut squash and pancetta risotto and is pretty standard as risotto goes. Not as great as La Figa, but not as bad as the attempts in the work canteen. After some good wine, chats, and munch we headed home for some tea, more chats…and some well needed sleep!!
