I worked from home today as I was expecting a delivery. Argos have a sale on at the moment so I bought a few things for my room; a large mirror, a throw for my bed and some curtains. Unfortunately I made the rookie mistake of not measuring my windows first so I ended up with a tiny curtain pole and massive curtains. Interior design fail!

Working from home is a bit of a mixed bag. On the one hand I get to wake up a little later than usual and I can watch TV whilst I work. On the other hand though my laptop is incredibly slow and I usually don’t have any food in the house. I should get into the habit of doing a weekly shop but I tend to just hit Waitrose after work to pick up things for my dinner. My choice today was to scavange the cupboards of my warm kitchen and eat what I could find, or go out in the cold to Tescos…I chose the former! For breakfast I has Special K and Philly (won’t bore you with another photo of this, but for those just joining me, it’s Special K flakes dipped into Extra Light Philadelphia, my favourite comfort food). For lunch I had fish fingers and couscous. I cooked the couscous with chicken stock and a little butter so it had a great flavour.

For dinner we had a bit of a housemate reunion. Jess, who has just moved out, will be leaving London shortly to start her new job in Switzerland so we met up for dinner at Zizzis in Canary Wharf. This place serves your basic Italian food: pizza, pasta, salad, risotto. I got the Zucca e Pancetta, which is a butternut squash and pancetta risotto and is pretty standard as risotto goes. Not as great as La Figa, but not as bad as the attempts in the work canteen. After some good wine, chats, and munch we headed home for some tea, more chats…and some well needed sleep!!

I’m going home to Cork today until Monday, flying at 8pm so I have to get through work first..

For breakfast I had Special K &Philly at my desk. I was onthe early shift (8am, ugh!) this week so fortunately there was no one around to give me strange looks while I ate this…

I met Lynn for lunch in the canteen and had a yoghurt with a ready made chicken lunch from Marks & Spencer. It was just a grilled chicken breast with roasted veg, was pretty tasty! I decied to have a small lunch as we were planning to get some dinner in the airport. I love airports! Which is strange as I hate flying…

As predicted, we hit the alcohol almost immediately after we left work. This is our ‘snack’ onthe Stansted Express.

For dinner, we ate at Yo Sushi!. This is the first place I actually enjoyed sushi. We ate here in preparation for out trip to Japan so that I would get a taste for Japanese food. I usually get cucumber or avocade maki but the maki selection was pretty poor so I went for vegetable noodle dish . This was a little bland to be honest, but it’s an airport so expectations should be low when ordering food. I also had miso soup and edamame beans with some fruit for dessert.

My Mom and Nick came to meet us at the airport then we got to go home and see Dexter (my dog!). We all stayed up drinking tea – well beer for the boys – and talking until quite late. By midnight I was shattered and just needed my bed. BF was a bit more wrecked than me and actually fell asleep whilst using his phone…. I am going to be in so much trouble if he sees this, but it’s so cute!

Stuck in another day of training! This time it’s Threading in .Net, quite interesting actually! I had a very boring breakfast of honey on wholewheat toast with tea. I decided not to take another picture of this breakfast as it has appeared regularly on this blog. Perhaps I should branch out…

It’s 24 degrees in London today so I went for lunch with Nikki to Yoo Moo, a frozen yoghurt shop in Canary Wharf. I got vanilla froyo with blueberries , raspberries and pineapple. It was AMAZING! I also bought 3 lucky dips for the Euromillions this evening. Cross your fingers.

Obviously this wasn’t enough to fill me up so I picked up a greek salad from the cafe at work.

At the moment I’m sitting on the couch at home, drinking a huge cup of green tea, eating Special K and Philly and trying to prep for an interview tomorrow… My brain hurts!

So I didn’t post anything yesterday, I fell off the blogging, meal-eating wagon. I had chocolate, followed by cheese, followed by more chocolate, a small healthy lunch midday which I forgot to photograph..and then chocolate for dinner. Today I NEED fruit ; & veg and green tea. For breakfast, melon and grape fruit salad, Pukka ‘Three Mint’ tea and water. Lots of veggies planned for lunch.

Day six!

Had some wine with dinner last night, followed by a visit to my aunts house for more wine, followed by a trip to visit my brother and drink a lot more wine. I now feel like death. I have made the usual promises to myself that I will never drink again. I’m starting to believe it this time. Working from home today and then driving to my dads for dinner after I log off. Really looking forward to this as that man really knows how to cook! Will post pictures of the meal later. In the meantime this is the only thing I can manage….

Feeling slightly more human now so I can face food. Having my favourite snack – Special K dipped in Philadelphia, sounds a bit weird but don’t knock it till you try it! Bet you will get hooked:) Also trying to rehydrate with buckets of squash.
