I woke at 9am on Saturday morning and couldn’t get back to sleep! What a waste of a possible lie-in. I had breakfast in bed. Yoghurt, tea and lemon squash.
This is absolutely terrible but I also had lunch in bed…I was catching up on episodes of New Girl and couldn’t bring myself to leave my comfy warm room to the ice-box downstairs. Lunch was soup, Babybel and a smoothie.
After lunch BF called around, we entertained the idea of going for a walk but it was too cold! We were going to the Winter Whites Gala in the Royal Albert Hall in the evening and wouldn’t be having dinner so we popped across the road to The Narrow for a bite to eat! I had macaroni and cheese with some Sauv Blanc!
Now it was time to go home and get ready for the night out! The Winter Whites Gala was held by the charity Centrepoint to raise awareness and funds to help fight homelessness. This was a bit of an unusual evening’s entertainment; tennis! We watched Tim Henman play Goran Ivanisevic, with Henman winning. Then Mansour Bahrami, John McEnroe, Pat Cash and Ivan Lendl played a doubles match. The players were all really entertaining, I guess since these were ‘friendly’ matches they were able to relax and joke a bit. Between the two games Prince William, who is a patron of the charity, gave a speech and there was a bit of prize giving that I didn’t really pay any attention to. We were pretty far back but we managed to snap a very fuzzy picture of him!
Here we are ready to head out. Thanks to Ashley for being our photographer! I love how adorable he looks in the dickie bow!
I booked us into Berry Brothers at the Royal Albert for a drink and light bite to eat before the show started. It’s not often that we have the opportunity to get so dressed up so I thought I would make the most of it. The restaurant is in the basement level and so cosy. You can only reserve an area here if you are seeing a performance at the hall so it was quite a relaxed and quiet atmosphere. I had champagne and shared a cheeseboard with BF. He also ordered venison carpaccio which he absolutely loved.
